Svaasthya Gyan Health Education Program

Primary health in the developing world often fails because:

  • Governments use a top-down approach which relies on doctors and experts, and there are never enough.
  • There is not enough bottom-up demand for primary preventative health.

In this course, most of the instruction is in the form of pictures and is suitable for neo-literates. The emphasis is on simple preventative health measures to reduce morbidity in rural villlages, together with role plays and coaching to bring about an effective village health committee.
